In 2017, ACS Clothing partnered with US-based retailers Tip Top Tux and Alβs Formalwear to provide warehousing and fulfilment for their nationwide tuxedo rentals.
As part of that collaboration, the existing in-store order management system β which was outdated and unsupported β needed to be completely replaced with a modern, scalable alternative.
I was brought in to lead the design work for the new system. Working closely with Product Owners and stakeholders on both sides of the Atlantic, I facilitated design workshops and affinity mapping sessions to help the team understand the existing order process, staff pain points, and areas for improvement.
From there, we mapped out where the new software would sit within the wider fulfilment journey and identified key touchpoints and minimum lovable product (MLP) features that would be essential for launch.
Following discovery, I created paper prototypes and then translated them into interactive wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes using InVision. These designs demonstrated how store staff would create and customise orders in collaboration with their customers β from selecting tuxedo packages to adding party members and making alterations.
The prototypes helped both design and development teams align around the user journeys and provided a clear visual guide for stakeholders and client teams during reviews.
